Over the past few days we have had 3 house break ins. On Friday evening in Ferero a car was also stolen – the car and some goods were recovered. On Sunday morning in Holtzhausen a car and maids room was broken into. On Tuesday in Edendale Rd – laptops and tvs stolen.
Most road closures see an increase in this sort of crime leading up to Christmas. We have had a large number of construction workers laying fibre and building or altering homes in our area. We are not saying that these people are involved in the crimes but we should all be wary of strangers in our area, especially if work is being carried out near your home. In the cases above the culprits are moving around on foot and jumping or bridging perimeter walls. We are currently making repairs to one of our fences.
Please double check your security arrangements and call Mamba immediately if you are concerned about any suspicious activity.
Remember to always maintain a high level of awareness, especially when you are leaving or entering your home/driveway. Please tell your family and domestic workers to also be on the lookout. Report all suspicious behaviour to Mamba control room (tel number below) and warn the residents using @ESRCAlert.
