In the last 24 hours we have had an individual walking around our suburb lifting gates and taking any opportunity that presents itself.  At one home he lifted the gate and stole a backpack from an unlocked car. At another home a gate was lifted but nothing was stolen.  At the third home he jumped the wall and broke through a door and stole a bike and an ipad.
Over the last few weeks we have sent out emails informing residents that we can expect crime to increase significantly across the country,  in our and surrounding suburbs.  We are already seeing the impact of criminals catching up and of many desperate people who no longer have a legitimate income.
Please can all residents review their personal security measures and take action if you feel there may be any weaknesses that offer opportunistic criminals any chance.

Remember to always maintain a high level of awareness, especially when you are leaving or entering your home/driveway.  Please tell your family and domestic workers to also be on the lookout.  Report all suspicious behaviour to Mamba control room (tel number below) and warn the residents using the Mamba Whatsapp Security Group.
