There was a robbery in the early hours of the morning in East Road. 2 men on foot climbed the wall and gained access to the property. Valuables and electronics as well as a vehicle were stolen. No injuries were reported during the incident. With no easy exit, the vehicle was abandoned in the closure and the culprits escaped on foot.
In this day and age of increasing crime in South Africa, residents are urged to closely examine their home security looking for easy access points and take the necessary steps to address any weaknesses such as low walling, no electric fencing, no burglar bars etc. We still have one of the lowest crime rates in Edenvale but if there are any easy targets the crooks will try their luck.
Remember to always maintain a high level of awareness, especially when you are leaving or entering your home/driveway. Please tell your family and domestic workers to also be on the lookout. Report all suspicious behaviour to Mamba control room (tel number below) and warn the residents using the Mamba Whatsapp Security Group and/or @ESRCAlert.
