We have become increasingly aware of criminal elements entering our suburb by, amongst other things, breaking razor wire at the permanently closed gates.
It is imperative that we ensure the infrastructure remains intact and we are continually repairing it, when we become aware of a problem.
However, with increasing breakages, this is becoming too big a job for the Committee to handle on their own, and we are asking residents to help us.
We are looking for ONE resident from each of the following streets, preferably someone who is close to a gate, who is willing to do a weekly inspection of the gate and its surrounding fence, and then to report back to us.
In this way, we can immediately attend to any breaks.
These gates are as follows :
Palliser/van der Walt
Palliser/Wagenaar (main gate)
Steyn/Baker (main gate)
We are also looking for a resident who lives close to each gate to offer the use of their electricity, when repairs need to be done. Patrick, our maintenance man, often struggles to find somewhere to plug in his welding machine, etc, to effect the repairs.
It would be helpful if he had a particular address he could go to.
We trust that the residents will do their part in keeping our neighbourhood as secure as possible and look forward to your responses!
Remember to always maintain a high level of awareness, especially when you are leaving or entering your home/driveway. Please tell your family and domestic workers to also be on the lookout. Report all suspicious behaviour to Mamba control room (tel number below) and warn the residents using the Mamba Whatsapp Security Group and/or @ESRCAlert.
