In previous emails we warned residents that we can expect crime to increase as lock down levels are reduced.  Criminals will be trying to catch up and many people are now unemployed and desperate.
We have heard from a road closure in Edenvale that one night this week they had a dozen incidents at homes and 2 cars were broken into.  This is a small gang moving on foot, wall hopping and taking any opportunity they can find.  It is very difficult to prevent this sort of crime as no vehicle is involved and sometimes the criminals may live within the suburb they are targeting.
We have sent out many emails in the past informing residents that they are responsible for their own personal security and we ask that all residents take this seriously and inspect their current security arrangements and address accordingly.
Low walls, spikes, electric fence, anti theft bracket on the gate motor, tree limbs overhanging a boundary wall, valuables left in cars parked outside, external beams, out buildings not properly secure, external spotlights, cameras, unlocked garage doors, burglar bars, security gates, anti lift gate brackets are some of the things you should consider when assessing your personal security risks.

Remember to always maintain a high level of awareness, especially when you are leaving or entering your home/driveway.  Please tell your family and domestic workers to also be on the lookout.  Report all suspicious behaviour to Mamba control room (tel number below) and warn the residents using the Mamba Whatsapp Security Group.
